Pathways of support are the broad and flexible array of resources and services for people with NDD and their caregivers across their journey. Supports might be obtained from many places. Supports may be quite general or more individualized. The figures below (Figure 1 & 2) show just some of the many potential supports available for children with NDD and their families in Alberta.

Research from around the world has helped us learn what can be especially challenging, stressful and exhausting for parents related to pathways of support (Figure 3). Research has also revealed what parents find especially helpful when navigating pathways of support. You can reflect on this information when you guide callers through their questions.
